FOLDAWAY technology published on ASME JMR

We recently published a peer-reviewed paper on the actuation mechanisms that allows scaling down FOLDAWAY devices up to 1.7 mm in thickness!

Within the paper we discuss possible actuation methods for low profile foldable robots and we identify custom Electro-Magnetic planar actuators as a cost-effective high performance solution.
We further built a 10 grams prototype with 13 mm motion range, 800 mm/s maximum speeds and capable of applying 10-20 grams forces.
